James and I had a date night last night! We went into Chicago so I could check out the progress on the construction on his condo. Then we went to Hub 51, ate some fabulous dinner and cocktails, and then headed over to Excalibur for dancing and more drinks.

Photoshoot

I have good news and bad news!

First the bad: I've been a bit under the weather for the past 2 days, so that's why I've been unmotivated to do outfit posts. 

But the good news is that my tripod arrived yesterday, so I can take my own pictures now. And the other good news is that a couple days ago, James and I did a little photoshoot with some of my favorite outfits. And this time I've actually edited the photos a bit - we took these in the evening, so the lighting was starting to disappear. I brightened up the colors and lighting a bit on my computer. So enjoy!








We got totally eaten by mosquitos while taking these pictures, lol!

Lusting After...

First of all, thanks everyone for your kind comments on my last post! 
My boyfriend James will be taking more outfit photos for me, but unfortunately I am visiting my parents' house for the weekend to celebrate my sister's birthday. 
But in the meantime, I recently got some money in my bank account, so I've been browsing the internet trying to find stuff to spend it on. =]

Here are a few things I am contemplating...

So there are just a few things that I'm lusting after. Running a fashion blog and reading other blogs is so dangerous - it makes me want things I never knew I wanted! 

I think I'll definitely be getting the shoes, but the rest is still up in the air. I'm carefully calculating how much I want to spend on certain items, and how much that leaves me to spend on other stuff. But I'll let you guys know what I decide to get.

What I'm Wearing - 8/11/10

welcoming my boyfriend home!!

Today my boyfriend James came back from Hong Kong! 
So I got all dressed up for him =]
I'm sooo glad to have him back. 
He took these pictures of me, so you guys finally get to see some decent photos of me!

This dress somehow reminds me of something a mermaid would wear, so I tried to keep that theme with my hair and makeup. 

While my hair was wet after washing, I ran some aloe gel through it, and then scrunched a ton of mousse into it. I used a claw clip to clip it up all scrunchy while it dried, and sprayed some salt water mix over it. When my hair was dry, I simply let it down, and clipped my bangs back with a bobby pin.

For my eye makeup, I used Lancome eyeshadow in "Bubbles" - it's a powder blue shadow with flecks of gold in it, which is great for those of us with olive/tan skin because it doesn't show up chalky, and doesn't wash you out. I dipped a brush in water and used a deeper turquoise (from an Urban Decay palette) to line my eyes, and then used black liquid liner (also Urban Decay), mascara, and highlight on the brow bone and in the inner corners.

Anyway, James will be living with me temporarily until the apartment he's subletting becomes available for him to move in. So he will be taking lots of pictures for me in the mean time! Yay for quality photos!

Also, I have a ridiculous amount of work to do over the next couple days, so I apologize in advance, as I probably won't be commenting on everyone's blogs as much. I'll be back once the weekend hits though. =]
