It didn't make any sense to leave the city after viewing apartments just to get ready, since we had to come back for a friend's birthday celebration. So I ducked into the bathroom of a hotel next to the bar/club, and made my transformation using items I had packed in a tote bag. I picked dresses for both day and night, since one piece is easy to get on and off. I re-straightened my hair, and added more drama to my make-up.
I didn't manage to get a full-length picture, but I paired a purple bubble-hem dress (Forever 21) with black tights and black ankle boots (DSW shoes). I added a silver and rhinestone bangle (aldo) and some hoop earrings (used to be my mom's) for some bling.
This bracelet is made from recycled wrappers by a women's co-op in the Phillipines. Buy a bag made by them, and help the environment! http://www.bazurabags.com/
I can't remember the name of the seller, but I got this lego ring on etsy. =]
I'm wearing turquoise eyeshadow, since I could wear almost any color with that top. I thought it would be a funky touch.
This is an outfit I wear on a very casual day, when I'm feeling kind of lazy. It's not exactly on the cutting edge of fasion, but the floral details, my signature riding boots, and some chunky necklaces add some character to an otherwise ordinary outfit.
jeans: urban outfitters
cami: macy's
cardigan: ann taylor loft
necklaces: juicy couture and local boutique (fashion tomato)
boots: steve madden
You can't tell very well from the picture, but my make-up is purple toned. A lavender eyeshadow and purple eyeliner make my brown eyes pop and keep my face looking bright, instead of blending into the beige tones of the outfit.
Hair is back in a braided bun, held with a hair fork from 60th St.
coat: vintage j.crew (hand-me-down from my mom)
scarf: gift from friend
I've had a full schedule lately, due to school and some busy weekends spent helping my boyfriend find a place to live. After over a month of searching, he's finally found a place! I'm hoping that I'll get back on schedule with blogging now that a decision has been reached and that things have settled down. =]
Sorry for the short hiatus! I was visiting my family for the holiday weekend, and my camera battery ran out, so I was unable to snap pics or find time to blog. But don't worry, I'm back!
Having experimented with almost every type of look at some point in my life, I guess I'm qualified to write about fashion. Over the years, I have developed a unique fashion sense. I consider myself a free spirit, and so I started this blog to share and swap fashion tips and ideas. If you like to look good and stand out, then this is the blog for you!
