Bangs are a hot trend for fall! I've been wanting to try them ever since I saw Katie Holmes rock this cute look. However, I started having flashbacks to when I was about 5 (the last time I rocked straight-across bangs, before growing them out at age 11), and started fearing I'd end up looking more like Suri than Katie.
Plus, I have a round face, and I thought bangs would make it look rounder. And I have a small forehead, so I wasn't sure bangs were suitable for that either. Suffice it to say, I was scared. So I put it off.
Until finally 2 weeks ago, I was bored at my parents' house, and just decided to go for it. So I pulled out my hair scissors, and in about 10 minutes, I had a new style! The results?
Amazing. I love it. I'm still getting used to it, but I love it. Bangs seem to add polish to my hair, no matter what I do with it.
PS - my hair really needs to get better at holding a curl. =[
Plus, my mom says I look like Angelina Jolie in "Salt," which probably isn't a bad thing.
So for anyone that's on the fence about bangs like I was, my advice is to just try it. You don't have to hack at your own hair like I did, cuz that's kind of crazy, but you should ignore all the advice out there about face shapes and whatnot and just do what you feel. That's what being free-spirited is all about!
